University Dance Festival 2023 Installation

In the projection mapped installation showcasing students from the University Dance Company, the focus is on displaying videos of memorable moments from the prelude performance of "Memories" by the University Dance Company. I was invited by Mel Knott to be the curator of the gallery space a part of University Dance Festival, creating a cohesive and immersive experience for the audience.

The gallery space was transformed into a multi-dimensional environment where the audience can engage with the dance performance videos and the projection mapping technology. The installation was built and sculptured with a series of blocks strategically placed throughout the space.

Each block had projected videos of the dance company's prelude performance, which had been edited, filmed by myself. These videos would capture captivating moments, choreography, and emotional expressions of the dancers, allowing the audience to relive and appreciate the beauty and artistry of the performance. The installation was accompanied by a screen piece filmed and edited by myself and Emma Marshall, also filmed by Isla Breach and Evie Bruce.

The projection mapped installation would offer a unique and immersive way for the audience to engage with the University Dance Festival 2023.

Alongside the Installation, an adapted version of Molly Brunsdon-Lloyd's choreography work, 'An Experiment with Mechanical Disarray,' was performed amongst and around the Installation. The collaboration between the choreographer, dancers, and projection mapping team resulted in a visually stunning and conceptually rich experience... And fantastic opening to the University Dance Festival 2023 Performances.
